These Aussie Icons Are Still Alive and Still Stirring the Pot

Paul Hogan – Born in 1939 – New South Wales

Paul Hogan shot to superstardom with the swaggering charm of “Crocodile Dundee” in 1986, a fish-out-of-water comedy that turned him into a global icon. But before the big screen, he was already a household name in Australia, thanks to “The Paul Hogan Show,” a sketch comedy classic that ran for over a decade. His Oscar-nominated screenplay for “Crocodile Dundee” was just the icing on the cake of his career peak.

Paul made a rare public appearance at the 2025 Sydney Comedy Festival, where he received a standing ovation and a lifetime achievement award. Still cheeky in his 80s, he joked about bringing Mick Dundee out of retirement.
