Ed Asner – 91, Lou Grant
Ed Asner was so brilliant in The Mary Tyler Moore Show that the network decided to launch a spinoff on his character, Lou Grant in 1977, which became a huge success. But alas, a few years later, the series got too political for Asner’s liking and owing to creative differences with its producers, the actor quit in 1982.
He was always outspoken; Edward Asner never pulled any punches when airing his views publicly and has a reputation for walking the talk. The recipient of numerous Primetime Emmy Awards, the ’70s star of television has a heart of gold, supporting special needs kids and their families to date.
