Marlo Thomas – Born in 1937

Marlo Thomas became television’s sweetheart in the late 1960s as Ann Marie on “That Girl,” one of the first sitcoms to spotlight an independent, single woman chasing her dreams in New York City. She wasn’t just starring, she was producing, a rare move for women at the time.

That show broke ground, inspired future hits like “Mary Tyler Moore,” and earned her a Golden Globe. Outside of acting, she championed children’s health through decades of work with St. Jude. In 2022, she appeared on “That Girl 2,” a short reboot promoting women’s health. Bold, stylish, and trailblazing, she proved that being “that girl” meant running the whole show.
