17 Jahre lang spielte Bastian Schweinsteiger für den FC Bayern München, bevor er zu Manchester United und später in die USA zu Chicago Fire wechselte. Heute ist er nicht mehr als Fußballer aktiv, sondern arbeitet als Experte bei der ARD Sportschau. Im Jahr 2016 heiratete er die Tennisspielerin Ana Ivanović in Venedig. Für sich und seine Frau kaufte Bastian Schweinsteiger ein Grundstück in Westendorf, in der Nähe des österreichischen Kitzbühel. Dort ließ er ein Haus bauen, das er aber offiziell noch nicht bewohnt. Wann er mit seiner Familie dort einziehen wird, ist noch nicht bekannt. Auch über den Wert des Grundstücks hat er sich bislang noch nicht geäußert.
