Gavin McLeod – 90, The Love Boat
Even though Gavin McLeod gained recognition via The Mary Tyler Moore Show, his stint in the popular sitcom The Love Boat as Captain Merrill Stubing from ’77 to ’86 is what people associate him with the most, even to date. The cast of the hit series got together in 2013 to reminisce the good old days, and their camaraderie even years later is quite evident.
Gavin was only four when he took to the stage for the first time and has had a long successful career in films and television. With his characteristic bald pate, McLeod has played diverse characters from an easy-mannered gentleman to a villain.
