Ariana DeBose & Sue Makkoo | Together Since 2018
When Ariana DeBose became the first actress of color to take home the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her part in the remake of the movie-musical “West Side Story,” she was celebrated by friends. However, her greatest supporter remained her lover, Sue Makkoo.
Makkoo has also made a name for herself as a costume director and designer for over two decades in the entertainment industry. The two first met on the set of “Broadway’s Summer: The Donna Summer Musical” in 2018, where DeBose played Disco Donna and Makkoo was a costume associate. Except for a few occasions, the couple mostly keeps their relationship out of the spotlight.
